    Fordham University commits significant funds to support scholarships. Awards are made on a competitive basis taking into consideration academic and performance profiles, leadership, and other factors.

    These four-year scholarships may be received for up to eight semesters (fall and spring only). The first five scholarships below are the most competitive. They are awarded to our top applicants upon admission.

    Eligibility

    • Maurice J. and Carolyn Dursi Cunniffe Presidential Scholarship

      The Presidential Scholarship is awarded to entering traditional first-year students who generally rank in the top 1 to 2 percent in their high school class. The Presidential Scholarship is awarded to the top 20 admitted students each year.

      The scholarship is awarded on the basis of excellent academic achievement in high school, test scores and personal characteristics.

      To renew the award, students must maintain full-time status, satisfactory academic progress, a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and compliance with the University's policies and Code of Conduct.

    • Excellence in Theatre Scholarship

      The Excellence in Theatre Scholarship is awarded to the top two theatre admits.

      The scholarship is awarded on the basis of excellent academic achievement in high school, test scores and personal characteristics.

      To renew the award, students must maintain full-time status, satisfactory academic progress, a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and compliance with the University's policies and Code of Conduct. The student must also continue to be a theatre major.

    • Fordham Scholarship for Semifinalists

      The Fordham Scholarship for Semifinalists is awarded to finalists and semifinalists in the National Merit or National Hispanic Recognition competitions who are entering first-year students, have an A or A- average, and are in the top 2-3% of all admitted students.

      To renew the award, students must maintain full-time status, satisfactory academic progress, a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and compliance with the University's policies and Code of Conduct.

    • Dean's Scholarship

      The Dean’s Scholarship is awarded to entering traditional first years on the basis of having attained a solid A or A- average, high academic performance in a competitive curriculum, and above 1490 on a 1600 scale or its equivalent on standardized testing. (Note: This number represents the minimum score converted to the new SAT scale.)

      Recipients are among the top 10 percent of all admitted students.

      To renew the award, students must maintain full-time status, satisfactory academic progress, a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and compliance with the University's policies and Code of Conduct.

    • Fordham Theatre Scholarship

      The Fordham Theatre Scholarship is awarded to students based on both talent and financial need. All entering first-year candidates for admission who are theatre majors are considered for the scholarship.

      To renew the award, students must maintain full-time status, satisfactory academic progress, a 2.0 cumulative GPA, and compliance with the University's policies and Code of Conduct. The student must also continue to be a theatre major.

    • Loyola Scholarships

      These scholarships are awarded to entering traditional first-year and transfer students who show high academic performance and leadership ability and have not been offered one of the scholarships described above.

      To renew the award, students must maintain full-time status, satisfactory academic progress, a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and compliance with the University's policies and Code of Conduct.

    • Maurice J. and Carolyn Dursi Cunniffe Presidential Scholarship

      This scholarship augments gift aid from all sources to cover the full tuition cost each year (fees not included) for courses taken as a traditional undergraduate student at Fordham. The scholarship will be adjusted for only one half of other non-tuition-specific outside resources or scholarships. The remaining half may be used for additional educational expenses.

      Presidential awards also cover the average cost of a double room or actual charges, whichever is less (excluding meal plans and fees), if the student lives on campus.

    • Excellence in Theatre Scholarship

      This scholarship augments gift aid from all sources to cover the full tuition cost each year (fees not included) for courses taken as a traditional undergraduate student at Fordham. The scholarship will be adjusted for only one half of other non-tuition-specific outside resources or scholarships. The remaining half may be used for additional educational expenses.

      The awards also cover the average cost of a double room or actual charges, whichever is less (excluding meal plans and fees), if the student lives on campus.

    • Fordham Scholarship for Semifinalists

      This scholarship augments gift aid from all sources to cover the full tuition cost each year (fees not included) for courses taken as a traditional undergraduate student at Fordham. The scholarship will be adjusted for only one half of other non-tuition-specific outside resources or scholarships. The remaining half may be used for additional educational expenses.

    • Dean's Scholarship

      The scholarship is an annual award of $15,000 for courses taken as a traditional undergraduate student at Fordham.

    • Fordham Theatre Scholarship

      If the student meets the academic and talent criteria, the theatre scholarship can range from $7,000 to full tuition minus any other tuition specific aid for courses taken as a traditional undergraduate student at Fordham.

    • Loyola Scholarships

      The Loyola Scholarship ranging from $1,000 to $12,500 is an annual award which will be applied toward tuition charges for courses taken as a traditional undergraduate student at Fordham.

    Application

    To receive a scholarship, applicants must take admission in an undergraduate degree program at Fordham Universtiy. Candidates are automatically considered for the scholarships after registration.
